Atandt fiber 300 vs 500 - Suspicious speed tests. I finally got fiber in my area this week and immediately called at&t to install it. I have been very happy with my charter plan but they were 300mbps max. So this is literally my first day on the internet 1000 plan. Speedtest.net is from my same city to an at&t server with 4ms ping. I easily get my 1000~ up and down.

 
As the title says, I have their Fiber 1000 plan and I am not getting advertised speeds. I'm hardwired directly to the router. There's an integrated speedtest when you log into the router, that shows about 970~ down and up. However, my wife's PC is only getting roughly 300 down and up to an AT&T server in Houston, TX through speedtest.net.. Backup

So would 300 be good enough, or would 1000 be needed. I know the 1000 is the best option, but I don't want to over think that the 300 wouldn't not be sufficient. We would usually only have 1 maybe 2 T.V.'s on at at time, but we both work full time so the only time we watch T.V. is at night and on the weekends.
